Exposition LRT Project Phase II
Los Angeles Exposition Transportation Authority, Los Angeles, California – Herzog/Delta , a joint venture
Project Scope
The Metro Exposition Line – Phase II Project was a design-build 6.6-mile extension of an 8-station Metro Rail System from an existing Station at Culver City. This project included seven new stations and parking. The alignment is primarily at-grade, is parallel to I-10, and ends in Santa Monica. Phase 2 extends westward to Santa Monica from the Metro Expo Line Culver City Station and runs along the old Pacific Electric Exposition right-of-way to 4th St and Colorado Av in downtown Santa Monica. All stations provide safe and convenient customer interfaces and site connectivity and reflect Metro’s system wide state-of-the-art design standards. Herzog/Delta was a subcontractor to the prime contractor, Skanska/Rados, a joint venture. Herzog/Delta’s scope of work was to furnish and install double track including several different types of rail including ballasted track, embedded track, direct fixation track, floating slab track, and rail encapsulation for noise and vibration. The Herzog/Delta project scope included coordination with the systems integration and testing phases.
