Project Scope

The scope of work for this project included the demolition of existing land improvements and marine structures, improvement/site work of approximately 14 acres of existing land, construction of approximately 12 acres of reinforced PCC paving, construction of reclaimed (new) land (approximately 1 acre) within harbor waters, installation of underwater/waterborne-placed wick drains, placement and removal of a surcharge on top of newly constructed/reclaimed land, construction of a new pile-supported concrete wharf, construction of a storm drainage system, construction of a domestic water system and a new electrical system including terminal lighting, and AMP “Alternative Marine Power” service to provide shore side power to moored ships.  The precast concrete piles for this project were the longest 24” diameter production piles ever driven within the Ports of Los Angeles or Long Beach.
